On the Road Again

It is good to know that this Stammtisch is well read across the country. At the conference in Denison, Iowa this last fall, I was pleasantly surprised to see a number of people there, who are regular readers of Germerica.net. (http://www.moin-moin.us )

This July, travels will bring me to northern Ohio and southwestern Minnesota and I would like to invite friends of Germerica.net to them, should their travel plans bring them to the same areas.

On Friday, July 9, I shall be speaking on German immigration, settlement, and influences in the state of Ohio in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. This is not far from the state capital, Columbus, and also not far from Cleveland.

The event is sponsored by the St. Joseph-Salem Heritage Society. I would be happy to meet and greet friends from northern Ohio for this program. (http://www.salemstjoseph.org )

On Saturday, July 17, I will be in New Ulm, Minnesota for two book signings, one in the morning at Sven & Ole’s Book Store (http://www.svenandolesbooks.com ) and then in the afternoon at the Bavarian Blast festival that is taking place that weekend in New Ulm (http://www.bavarianblast.com ).

Here I will be at the table set up by the Country Loft of New Ulm (http://www.thecountryloftdolls.com). At both events, several books of mine will be available, including my most recent work, German-Americana: Selected Essays.

Several events are also on the schedule for the coming months, taking me to Cleveland, St. Louis, Washington, D.C. and elsewhere. Please watch for announcements in forthcoming installments of this Stammtisch column.

Finally, I hope to see some readers of Germerica.net this July in Upper Sandusky, Ohio or New Ulm, Minnesota.

Yours truly,

Dr. Don Heinrich Tolzmann, Cincinnati
