Christkindlmarket Opens in Chicago

Inspired by the famous Nuremburg Christmas market dating back to 1545, the Chicago Christkindlmarket takes place in Daley Plaza from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
Over 50 vendors offer an abundance of unique handcrafted gifts that include ornaments, wooden and plush toys and European chocolates. Scheduled events include festive performances and entertainment amidst the comforting aromas of stollen, gluehwein (a warm, mulled spiced wine), bratwurst, schnitzel, potato pancakes and other sweet and savory German treats.

Guggenheim and Deutsche Bank to End Berlin Partnership

Guggenheim Foundation announced plans to close the Deutsche Guggenheim exhibition space on Berlin’s Unter den Linden boulevard when the current contract expires at the end of this year. The partnership between the two institutions began 14 years ago.
